‘Kim Dan-bi’s 22-point performance’ sees Woori Bank overtake Hana OneQ for joint lead

Asan Woori Bank defeated Bucheon Hana OneQ to move into a tie for first place with Cheongju KB Stars.

Woori Bank defeated Hana Won Q 64-54 in a home game of the Woori WON 2023-2024 Women’s Professional Basketball League 텍사스홀덤 regular season at Asan Yi Sunshin Gymnasium on Monday.

Woori Bank, which had won six straight games to open the season and dropped to second place after losing to KB, tied for first place with KB with a 7-1 record with the win. It was also the second straight win against Hana OneQ this season.

Hana OneQ, which was evenly matched until the third quarter but lost in vain as its concentration and scoring power plummeted in the final minutes, remained in fifth place (2-6).

It was at the beginning of the fourth quarter that cracks began to appear in the tense match. A mid-range two-pointer by Kim Dan-bi hit the rim and a passing mistake by Kim Anna in the ensuing Hana OneQ offense culminated in a three-point play by Park Hye-jin to give Woori Bank a 53-47 lead.

Spurred on by the momentum, Woori went on a tear with a three-pointer from Kim Dan-bi and baskets from Choi Yi-sam and Park Hye-jin, and the lead grew to double digits.

Kim Dan-bi led the way for Woori Bank, scoring 22 points and grabbing seven rebounds, the most for both teams. Park Ji-hyun also had a “double-double” performance with 13 points and nine rebounds. Noh has now played in 300 career games.
