Professional volleyball to use Mikasa ball starting this month
Professional volleyball has decided to use the internationally recognized ball, the Mikasa Ball, starting with the Kobo Cup later this month in an effort to improve its international game. The Korean Volleyball Federation has announced that it will change the league’s ball from the 2023 Gumi Dodram Cup professional volleyball tournament in a bid to improve its fine ball sensitivity and adaptability in international competitions. The tournament, which starts on April 29, will feature some teams that have won titles in Japanese and Thai leagues. The federation also plans to resume international friendly tournaments that were suspended due to COVID-19 as a way to strengthen international competitiveness, and implement overseas training projects for promising players and coaches within their third year of professionalism.
