Kim Ji-A and Cho Sung-Min (Busan Metropolitan Government) secured a bronze medal in the 470 sailing class at the Hangzhou Asian Games. Kim Ji-A and Cho Sung-Min finished fifth and fourth, respectively, in the 11th and 12th races of the Hangzhou Asian Games Sailing 470 Class at Xiangshan Sailing Center in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province, China, on Saturday afternoon. The two sailors accumulated 40 penalty points in 11 races, excluding the fourth race (seventh place), which was their lowest finish of the 12 races .First place went to the Japanese team (Keizu Okada-Miho Yoshioka), who accumulated 14 points .They were followed by the Chinese team (Dong Wenzhu-Wang Jingsha) with 21 penalty points. Only six penalty points separated the fourth-placed Thai team (Navi Tamsunthorn- Piyaporn Kemkaew) from Korea (46 points).In sailing, penalty points are awarded in order of finish after each race. First place is worth 1 point, second place is worth 2 points, and so on, and the lowest one-race total can be subtracted from the total.The fewer penalty points you accumulate, the higher your final ranking .Sailing is divided into classes based on the shape of the boat or board used. The 470 class is sailed in two-person dinghies and will be coed starting at the Hangzhou Asian Games.
