Women’s golf’s Jin Young Ko tops world ranking for 158 weeks longest tie ever

With her latest four-week streak at No. 1, Ko has now held the top spot for 158 weeks, tying the all-time record held by retired Mexican Lorena Ochoa. The world rankings were frozen due to COVID-19 for nine weeks from March through May 2020, when Ko was No. 1, according to the LPGA Tour. If Ko remains No. 1 after this week’s major, the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, she will set a new record for the category.
